DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a loan originator, your duties will include, but may not limit to:

Optimal Customer Service

• Maintaining consistent and professional communication with borrower{s) and keeping them informed throughout the loan origination and financing process
• Contacting customer on matters related to the optimal loan product, qualification/approval, etc.
• Obtaining necessary documentation from borrower(s)
• Meeting with the customer to go over all requirements and documents before closing
• Discussing mortgage product features with the borrower(s)
• Making sure the borrower(s) are aware off all disclosures, including the Know Before You Owe (or TRID) disclosure (which should be completed with the processor)
• Making sure the fees mentioned in the closing disclosure align with our prior commitments to borrower(s)

Working on Loan-Related Tasks (with other LO's)

• Reviewing completed Uniform Residential Loan Application (Form 1003) to make sure information is consistent and correct; making corrections as needed 
• Examining credit and financial situation(s) of borrower(s) to determine an appropriate loan package and determine approval based on automated underwriting system (AUS) findings
• Maintaining regular communication between LO's, selling and listing agents, processors and managers
• Ensuring that a loan is appropriately profitable, viable, and meets all conditions before closing

Outreach and Marketing

• Creating or expanding our presence on various marketing platforms (email, social media, etc.)
• Obtaining new contacts/connections with real estate agents and wholesale lenders

WHAT WILL BE NEEDED TO APPLY

• A one to two-page resume highlighting experience relevant to mortgage and finance field along with a cover letter
• At least 2 years of prior work experience in the aforementioned field and a high school diploma (or equivalent)
• Those looking to work as loan originators should have an active MLO license
